Gozaemon Masunaga invites craftsmen from Osaka to live in Fukui and establish an optical frame industry in that region.

Improved technology for gold/copper and gold/silver frames

Gozaemon Masunaga II takes over the company after the death of the founder's father
1955
Main factory moves to present location in Fukui-Shi
1970
Masunaga frames placed in Osaka Expo Time Capsule.
1991
Sales begin of KOKI Sportsflex frames (made from shape memory alloy)
2002
Officially open flagship store “MASUNAGA 1905” at Kita-Aoyama in Tokyo. (Produced by Makoto Saito)
2005
Officially open “MASUNAGA 1905” at LACHIC in Nagoya. Release the centennial model on the 100th anniversary of a company. Design Excellent Company Award received
